Judge Murphy Gets Indictment Reinstated

Basically Judge Leslie Smith, who is overseeing the case against Murphy, now says he was misled by Murphy's lawyer.

Murphy is accused of soliciting bribes from a prospective judge, allegedly to be paid to then Gov. Bill Richardson for a judicial appointment.

An affidavit released by special prosecutor Matt Chandler indicated that the practice of paying for judicial appointments was common in the state.

Richardson as well as Murphy have denied wrongdoing.
