Susana Axes NM Environmental Improvement Board

Looks like members of the state Environmental Improvement Board got the same news from Gov. Martinez today as the Governor's Mansion chefs: You're out of here!

According to a news release from the Gov's Office, the decision to terminate all appointed members of the board was a result of the board's support of cap-and-trade regulations. "The EIB moved forward with the cap-and-trade regulatory program after state lawmakers rejected the proposal during the legislative process," a news release said.

Martinez's office sent a copy of the letter:

Thank you for your service to the State of New Mexico by serving on the Environmental Improvement Board. This letter is to inform you that I am removing you as a member of the Environmental Improvement Board. Your removal is effective immediately.
