The Barker Boot

Gov. Bill Richardson didn't respond to KRQE investigative reporter Larry Barker's report last night about exempt employees. According to the report.

Richardson refused to be interviewed and would not allow any of his staff to comment.

Instead a spokesman told News 13 the governor feels he's going to be "screwed" on this story and doesn't want anything to do with it.
But the Governor's Blog did have this yesterday, perhaps a preemptive move.

Some legislators and many news reporters continue to be fascinated with the Governor's exempt employees. Some have criticized the Governor's actions, even though he has been the only elected official to reduce his workforce and cut salaries while legislative employees are not even subject to oversight.

Below is a video of Barker's report. You can read Richardson's blog HERE. (You can't link to individual posts there, so you'll have to scroll down to the Feb. 9 entry)
