Richardson refused to be interviewed and would not allow any of his staff to comment. But the Governor's Blog did have this yesterday, perhaps a preemptive move.
Instead a spokesman told News 13 the governor feels he's going to be "screwed" on this story and doesn't want anything to do with it.
Some legislators and many news reporters continue to be fascinated with the Governor's exempt employees. Some have criticized the Governor's actions, even though he has been the only elected official to reduce his workforce and cut salaries while legislative employees are not even subject to oversight.
Below is a video of Barker's report. You can read Richardson's blog HERE. (You can't link to individual posts there, so you'll have to scroll down to the Feb. 9 entry)

When will Bill ever learn to be upfront instead of inviting speculation and cynicism about his actions and motives? We all have reason to want details about his moves regarding his exempt employees, and, further, since we pay for their salaries, have every right to know who is no longer working for the state, or who got transferred where!
ReplyDelete"Big Bill" did dump a number of exempt employees when he had to; primarily those who were qualified and worked hard. Many of those exempts he kept have dubious job titles and duties. By doing this, he's given all state employees a bad rap. Time for El Jefe to take an early retirement!
