Susana Makes the Onion

The news about Gov. Susana Martinez's grandfather illegally entered the U.S.  from Mexico has made national news.

But it's not really national news until it makes The Onion.

Here's the latest "American Voices," The Onion's "Man-in-the-Street" feature.

(Note to Mary Herrera: The Onion is satire.)

  1. One of the great benefits of living in America is being able to be judged by your own merits (decisions or choices) and not withstanding the geo-political status, views or positions of your relatives, whether that is good, bad or indifferent.

It might appear hypocritical but our relative's past shouldn't keep us from making decisions we feel need to be made for ourselves.

Whether I agree or not has little bearing on the reasoning behind the decision and won't change the need for something to be done.

The federal government has got to change the way they do legal immigration. The quota system is outdated, ineffective and puts people & state governments in jeopardy.

We will continue to see laws the frustrate people when states are forced to protect its borders (interests) without effective, comprehensive federal immigration policies.
